Cyno：I've taken some time to reflect on this... If I had to guess, Professor Cyrus came to the desert knowing that he would almost certainly never return.

赛诺：他又是个爱憎分明，一意孤行的人，我们不可能说服他逃走。

Cyno：He's a stubborn man who tends to double down when he feels strongly about something. We won't get anywhere trying to convince him to escape.

提纳里：我同意。我的老师纳菲斯也说过，居勒什这个人很死心眼。

Tighnari：I agree. My master, Naphis, says the same thing — once Cyrus makes up his mind about something, he won't listen to reason.

Cyno：Mhm. So that's one thing. A few other things came to mind, too.

赛诺：缄默之殿的信息你们都知道了，我这里没有要补充的内容。

Cyno：You've heard all you need to hear about the Temple of Silence, so on that, I don't have anything to add.

赛诺：我对这地方的记忆还是很模糊，多半是受跋灵影响。小时候我经常觉得头痛，反复发烧。

Cyno：My own memories of this place are hazy, though. Probably something to do with the overpowering presence of the Ba Fragments. That might explain why I suffered from constant headaches and fevers as a child.

赛诺：当时还会突然感受到某种伟大的情感，看见一些模糊的影子。可都是片段，记不住。

Cyno：I do remember having some fleeting moments of profound emotion, when vague images would appear in my mind. But I don't recall much, only bits and pieces.

Cyno：I was still young, then, and all I could understand was that there was this strong will inside my mind. Thinking back on it now, I suppose it was Hermanubis's way of trying to encourage me, even if we couldn't communicate.

Cyno：The power that came to inhabit my spirit was probably one of the cornerstones of their whole faith. So if the will and might of Hermanubis is a real and tangible thing, and they are its rightful worshipers, then...

Paimon：You're not gonna give in to their demands, are you? Surely there has to be another way?

Traveler: Don't make any rash decisions, Cyno.

Cyno：No, I have no intention of returning it. I need this power to protect Sumeru. But the Temple has the right to make the final decision over its fate, since it belongs to one of the Seven Pillars of King Deshret...

Cyno：So I will challenge them head-on, and win the right to wield this power for myself, fair and square.

提纳里：对了，临走前艾尔海森提醒过我，缄默之殿从前是个古老的贵族般的组织，而贵族总是被自己的礼仪所束缚。

Tighnari：Hmm, this reminds me of something Alhaitham mentioned to me just before we left. He said that the Temple of Silence was originally founded by the ruling elite of the day. Traditionally, such organizations are bound by a strict and ancient code of nobility.

提纳里：卡维也说他在沙漠工作时听说沙漠部落大多都有自己的规矩，沙漠人总说自己无法违背血统和部落规矩。

Tighnari：Kaveh has made similar observations about the desert tribes from his work trips there. He says many of them have their own internal rules. They talk about the importance of never dishonoring their tribal bonds, or the rules laid down by their ancestors.

提纳里：我们不妨主动一些，提出我们的方案。

Tighnari：I think we could turn that to our advantage. Go back to them with a proposal of our own.

派蒙：哇…原来还可以这样。

Paimon：Wow... And just like that, we've turned the tables on them!

赛诺：想到一起去了。

Cyno：Looks like we have the same idea.

赛诺：占据先机，主动提出无法拒绝的条件，我们就有可能拿下他们。

Cyno：Turn it back on them now, while we still can, in terms that they cannot refuse. That's how we win this.

旅行者：听起来挺像那么回事的。

Traveler：That sounds good to me.

提纳里：嗯，切入口也想到了。我们可以去找赛索斯，告诉他我懂一些医学，想看看他祖父的情况。

Tighnari：Great. And I know just how to start the conversation. Let's go find Sethos. We'll tell him that I know a thing or two about medicine, and would like to take a look at his grandfather's condition.

与赛索斯对话 Talk to Sethos

赛诺：赛索斯，我们谈谈吧。

Cyno：Sethos. Let's talk.

赛索斯：你想清楚了吗？

Sethos：Have you made up your mind?

提纳里：在那之前，我稍微懂一点医学，能不能让我看看巴穆恩的情况？

Tighnari：We'll get to that. But first — I have some degree of medical training, so I was wondering if you might let me take a look at your grandfather?

Sethos：I have no objections, although we do have our own doctors here. I doubt you'll be able to tell us anything we don't already know.

Tighnari：Only one way to find out.

Sethos：Keep your voices down. We don't want to disturb him.

Tighnari takes out his medical kit and performs a basic medical exam for Bamoun.

Tighnari：Let's talk outside.

提纳里：巴穆恩深度昏迷了，情况很不乐观。你们的医生肯定也诊断出了同样的结果。

Tighnari：Bamoun has fallen into a deep coma, and his prognosis is quite grave. I am sure that your physicians have come to the same conclusion.

提纳里：年轻时受过重伤，后来又积劳成疾，年迈体衰…

Tighnari：He appears to have sustained a serious injury in his youth, which has been exacerbated over the years by the heavy burden of work, and now by the effects of old age...

Tighnari：Regretfully, I must inform you that... based on what I've seen with patients in a similar condition, he doesn't have long left. A few days at most.

Cyno：You're his heir, aren't you? You clearly have a lot of respect for the man. But you also see things differently. You have a broader range of concerns, and a more pragmatic approach.

Cyno：So tell me how we can end this on your terms. Let's find a way to bring all this to a resolution while Bamoun is still alive to see it — that's what really matters to you, I know it.

Paimon：Yeah. There's no time to waste here. You know that better than anyone.

Tighnari：You know, the two of you are actually in a very similar predicament right now. Both of you have a very different perspective from the men who raised you.

Paimon：Right. And you didn't create this situation — they did, but somehow, you've ended up having to make the tough decisions...

赛索斯：你说得没错，这件事里双方立场都已经变化转移了。

Sethos：...You're right. We both look at this problem very differently than the people we inherited it from.

赛索斯：我同意，赛诺。一切皆因赫曼努比斯而起，不妨也用他的仪式来做了断。

Sethos：I accept, Cyno. This all began because of Hermanubis, so let's end it with a rite he himself created.

赛索斯：传说赫曼努比斯刚到图莱杜拉城时曾与人比武，他和他的两位同伴连日战斗，收服人心，招揽了大批有志之士。

Sethos：Legend has it that when Hermanubis first arrived in Tulaytullah, he sparred with the city's residents. He and his two companions proved their mettle by fighting over several days, winning the support of many fine people.

赛索斯：那些人后来都成为了缄默之殿的一份子。这是我们的开始，也是我们的仪式——「决斗之仪」。

Sethos：That group of supporters were some of the first members of the Temple of Silence, and the sparring matches were enshrined as one of our founding rites... The Rite of Duels. It's where it all began.

赛诺：很有意义，就用这个办法吧。

Cyno：Sounds very fitting. I'm in.

赛索斯：你也拥有赫曼努比斯之力，与缄默之殿有很大关系。我同意你带同伴参加这场比试。

Sethos：As a fellow vessel of Hermanubis, your ties to the Temple of Silence run deep. So I will permit you to participate in this rite, along with your chosen companions.

提纳里：三对三，可以。

Tighnari：Three against three. Sounds good.

Sethos：However, I have some additional terms. As the challengers, you must win all three of your fights to win. And Cyno... both of us must put our Ba Fragment on the line. The winner takes them both.

赛索斯：放任居勒什带走跋灵是爷爷从前因怜悯犯下的错误，也是缄默之殿必须跨过的议题，这一点上我不能退让。

Sethos：Letting Cyrus leave with one of the Ba Fragments was a mistake, made by my grandfather out of pity. It is a longstanding issue that must be addressed for the Temple of Silence to move forward. I can make no concessions on that front.

Cyno：None needed. We're on the same page.

赛诺：如果我赢了，缄默之殿必须释放居勒什，并将过去的事一笔勾销。

Cyno：If I win, the Temple of Silence must release Cyrus, and consider this past dispute resolved.

Cyno：If you win, I'll return my power to you.

Sethos：It's a deal. Then let's meet at the ceremonial hall tomorrow evening, eight o'clock.

与赛诺对话 Talk to Cyno

提纳里：都谈到这个份上，可没有回头路了。

Tighnari：Well, after how that went, there's definitely no turning back now.

赛诺：也不是才开始的。从老师偷偷溜走那一刻起，我就已经没有回头路了。

Cyno：There never was. Turning back hasn't been an option for me since the moment the professor slipped away to return to the desert.

提纳里：你得赢。不论是作为大风纪官还是作为你自己，都需要这份力量。

Tighnari：You have to win. You need this power — both as General Mahamatra and for yourself.

派蒙：对呀。而且这股力量跟了你这么久，它一定也认可你了。

Paimon：Yeah, that's right! Besides, it's stayed with you ever since you were a small child. Surely that's a sign it thinks of you as its rightful owner.

赛诺：…不论是作为风纪官，还是作为我自己…

Cyno：...Both as General Mahamatra, and for myself...

赛诺：是啊，这么想想，我也是好不容易才克服困难制服了这股力量的。又不是谁都能做到。

Cyno：Yeah, when you put it that way... I've had to overcome a lot to tame this power and claim it for myself. Not everyone could have done that.

派蒙：就是就是！

Paimon：Exactly!

Traveler: Let's not get sidetracked. We gotta focus on winning!

Traveler: We'll help you see this through.

Tighnari：Traveler and I will never lose.

赛诺：我也一样。

Cyno：And neither shall I.

赛诺：沙漠文明非常古老，又因为种种原因一度和雨林产生间隙。就像迪希雅说的，偏见阻隔着人们。

Cyno：The desert was home to an ancient and great civilization that for a variety of reasons, fell out with the civilization of the rainforest. It's just as Dehya said — prejudices pushed people apart.

赛诺：心病更是一切的源头。我总觉得巴穆恩在乎的东西似乎远不止这些，赛索斯也不是恶人，他有他的打算。

Cyno：But there must be personal factors at work here, too. I can't shake the feeling that Bamoun cares for many more things than he lets on, and I don't think that Sethos is any kind of villain. He's just doing what he thinks is best.

赛诺：…一切就看明天了。

Cyno：...Tomorrow, everything will be resolved.

Duaenre：We gather on this day to perform once more the Rite of Duels, with the greatest of all sages, Lord Hermanubis as our witness, for his power and authority is present in our midst.

杜安雷：此为至圣的仪式，观礼者将不可打扰，百般恭敬，庄严地观看全过程。

Duaenre：This is our most sacred of ceremonies, and no disruption from the audience shall be tolerated. It is incumbent upon all to observe the duel with the utmost respect and reverence throughout the proceedings.

杜安雷：缄默之殿的代表。防守方。

Duaenre：Representing the Temple of Silence: The defenders.

赛索斯：爷爷，你来了。

Sethos：Grandfather, you're here.

巴穆恩：…咳…多少年了，你竟然举办这个仪式，赛索斯。

Bamoun：cough ...A Rite of Duels, after all these years... I am surprised by your decision, Sethos.

赛索斯：我知道我在做什么，爷爷，放心看着吧。

Sethos：I know what I'm doing, Grandfather. Just leave it to me.

杜安雷：教令院的代表。进攻方。

Duaenre：Representing the Akademiya: The challengers.

Cyno：Ready. We will fight to have our voices heard.

Paimon：Huh? Are you sure?

Traveler：I'm sure. We want to keep our morale up.

Tighnari：I agree. Traveler is very strong. Sending her/him out first will definitely intimidate the opposing side.

赛诺：那你第二个。

Cyno：Okay, then you're second.

提纳里：嗯。

Tighnari：Sure.

赛诺：决定好了。

Cyno：We have decided.

Sethos：So have we. Let's begin.

Sethos：I am Sethos, vessel of Hermanubis, grandson of Bamoun, the leader of the Temple of Silence.

赛索斯：长久以来，我们缄默之殿谨遵赫曼努比斯大人的要求保守秘密，亦为求自保之力而于走投无路之时进行实验。

Sethos：For many years, we have kept our covenant with Lord Hermanubis by guarding the secrets of King Deshret. And even in our darkest hour, when we could not see a way forward, we chose not to abandon hope, but to embark on a brave new experiment so that we might prevail.

赛索斯：我们追随他的真知与力量，渴求他的灵魂与光明一同降下。

Sethos：We earnestly sought Lord Hermanubis's wisdom and power, longing to see his spirit and his light descend upon us.

赛索斯：现在，我要为争夺这份力量而战！

Sethos：Now, I will fight to become the rightful wielder of that power!

赛诺：我是大风纪官赛诺，贤者居勒什的学生与继承者，为捍卫我的力量、我的老师与我的国家而战。

Cyno：I am Cyno, General Mahamatra of the Akademiya, student and successor of Cyrus, the sage of Spantamad. I fight in defense of my power, my professor, and my nation.

赛诺：你呢？还有没说出口的话吧。既然是崇高的决斗，就在赫曼努比斯眼前展露你的真心。

Cyno：And you? I think you left some things unsaid. This is a sacred duel, and Hermanubis is watching. So bare your soul.

赛索斯：……

Sethos：...

赛索斯：（所有人…不论男女老少，都在期待着这场战斗的结果。）

Sethos：(Everyone... old and young, fit and frail, they're all waiting to see how this duel will end.)

Sethos：My grandfather is a wise leader. He is also known to be a ruler who is not afraid to get blood on his hands. I understand his beliefs well, and I know what he expects of me.

Sethos：But our faith has held us back for too long. After I grew up, I went to the rainforest once, and I saw for myself the people of the city.

Sethos：Times have changed. The people of Sumeru are happier and more free now than in the past. I thought about this as I stood at one of the tallest points in the city, gazing down at the streets below.

Sethos：Then I thought of you, Cyno. You and I both wield the same power, yet the lives we lead could not be more different.

Sethos：Each Ba Fragment of Hermanubis stands for something different — might, glory... or one of many other secrets that have yet to be revealed.

Sethos：I once thought that the nature of our fragments must be what makes us so different from one other. But... maybe, it's that you've found your answer, and I am still searching for mine.

Cyno：I am more than just a warrior. I am my own person.

Tighnari：...Exactly.

Sethos：...

Sethos：The name "Hermanubis" has left its mark on both of us, shaped the course of our lives. We are his vessels, and yet we are more besides.

Sethos：So show me your answer, Cyno. Show me I can be more than my faith, more than the power I wield... Show me the person I can become!

Cyno and Sethos engage in a fair and fierce duel witnessed by Hermanubis. Cyno emerges victorious.

As agreed, Sethos hands his Ba Fragment over to Cyno. When the latter receives it, his body begins to give off a startling radiance.

已如残烛般的巴穆恩见到此情此景，激动万分，像是亲眼见证了奇迹一般。他回忆起了古老的过往，有关赫曼努比斯，古代沙漠以及缄默之殿的种种…

Bamoun, whose life gutters like a moribund candle, is greatly moved at this sight, as one who has witnessed a miracle. Ancient memories come to his mind, of Hermanubis, of the desert of bygone eras, and many things involving the Temple of Silence...

派蒙：怎么样？感觉还好吧？

Paimon：How is it? Do you feel okay?

赛诺：……

Cyno：...

Sethos：...
